The Strike King Pro-Model 8XD Crankbait is a large-profile deep-diving crankbait designed to reach bass holding in offshore water that is beyond the range of conventional crankbaits. Measuring 5.5 inches and weighing approximately 1.3 ounces, the 8XD is designed to reach depths around 20 feet, making it an excellent choice for ledges, offshore structure, deep points, and other productive bass-holding areas.
The 8XD incorporates the signature curved bill found throughout Strike King's XD crankbait family. This specialized bill allows the lure to dive quickly and efficiently, reaching its working depth without requiring an excessively long retrieve. The design also helps the bait maintain its action when contacting bottom structure.
Built for anglers who want more profile than the 6XD without the added resistance associated with the larger 10XD, the 8XD provides a middle ground between the two. Its large baitfish profile is especially effective when bass are feeding on substantial forage or when a bigger presentation is needed to attract quality fish from deep water.
Free-floating rattle chambers produce varying sound frequencies during the retrieve, adding an acoustic element to the lure's deep-water presentation. The combination of deep-diving ability, substantial profile, vibration, sound, and lifelike finishes makes the Strike King Pro-Model 8XD a powerful option for targeting deep largemouth and smallmouth bass.
