The SPRO RkStar 55 is a hard-working diving crankbait designed in collaboration with professional angler Mike McClelland to deliver a powerful hunting action and reliable cover-deflecting performance. Originally developed with Northwest salmon and steelhead fishing in mind, the RkStar 55 has the strength and action to excel across a wide range of freshwater applications, including bass, salmon, steelhead, and trout fishing.
Measuring 55mm and weighing 1/2 ounce, the RkStar 55 reaches approximately 9–14 feet and is designed to grind along the bottom while digging and deflecting off cover. Its wide-wobbling, hard-hunting action creates frequent changes in direction when the lure contacts rocks and structure, helping generate reaction strikes from aggressive fish.
The RkStar 55 also features a built-in rattle system that produces a strong, high-frequency thudding sound to help attract fish from a distance. Its rugged construction and precise tuning allow it to run true in strong current and remain effective for casting, trolling, and back-trolling. SPRO equips the lure with Gamakatsu #4 treble hooks, providing the strength needed when targeting larger freshwater gamefish.
For bass anglers, the RkStar 55 provides a deep-diving crankbait option capable of working bottom structure and deflecting off cover. For salmon and steelhead anglers, its durable construction, strong hooks, and stable action make it well suited to river applications where current and hard strikes demand dependable tackle.
