Spro Fat Papa Squarebill

The SPRO Fat Papa Squarebill 55 is a shallow-running crankbait designed by MLF angler Russ Lane to deliver an aggressive, responsive presentation around cover. Measuring 55mm and weighing 1/2 ounce, the Fat Papa Squarebill 55 runs approximately 3–5 feet deep, making it well suited for fishing shallow banks, flats, grass, wood, and other cover where bass are actively feeding.

The Fat Papa Squarebill 55 combines the hunting characteristics of a traditional balsa crankbait with the durability of modern plastic construction. Its circuit-board square bill helps the lure deflect off cover and structure while its highly buoyant body allows it to rise away from snags. The result is a responsive crankbait designed to work efficiently through shallow cover and trigger reaction strikes.

A fast, lively action requires little effort from the angler, allowing the Fat Papa Squarebill 55 to quickly cover water while maintaining its erratic hunting presentation. The lure is finished with sharp Gamakatsu #4 round-bend treble hooks and is offered in a range of baitfish and crawfish-inspired colors.
