The SPRO Fat John is a shallow-running squarebill crankbait designed by B.A.S.S. Elite Series angler John Crews for targeting bass around shallow cover and structure. Measuring 60mm and weighing 5/8 ounce, the Fat John runs approximately 1 to 3 feet deep, making it well suited for fishing shallow flats, banks, grass, rocks, wood, and other cover.

The Fat John features a unique flat-sided square-bill profile that produces a wide-wobbling, hunting action. During the retrieve, the lure moves unpredictably from side to side, creating an erratic presentation while its square bill helps it deflect off shallow objects. This hunting action is designed to draw the attention of bass holding in shallow water.

A tungsten weight-transfer system helps the Fat John achieve long casting performance, while its compact, wide-bodied profile provides plenty of vibration during the retrieve.
