Smithwick Suspending Rattlin' Rogue

The Smithwick Lures Suspending Rattlin' Rogue is a classic suspending jerkbait designed to imitate a vulnerable baitfish and trigger reaction strikes from bass. Its suspending presentation allows anglers to pause the lure in the strike zone, giving following fish an easy target and making it especially effective when bass are feeding on smaller baitfish.

The Rattlin' Rogue's hard-bodied design produces an erratic, darting action when worked with a jerk-and-pause retrieve. Sharp rod movements cause the lure to flash and change direction, while pauses allow it to suspend rather than immediately rising or falling through the water column.

Internal rattles provide additional acoustic attraction and help the lure call bass from nearby areas. The baitfish-shaped profile makes it a natural choice around points, rocky banks, flats, grass edges, docks, and other areas where bass are actively feeding.

Retrieve cadence can be adjusted to match conditions. Aggressive jerks and shorter pauses can trigger active bass, while longer pauses can be highly effective when fish are lethargic, pressured, or following without striking.

The Smithwick Suspending Rattlin' Rogue is a versatile jerkbait for largemouth, smallmouth, and spotted bass and is an excellent choice whenever a suspending baitfish presentation can give anglers an advantage.
