Berkley PB Nessie

The Berkley PowerBait Nessie is a soft-bodied glide bait designed to bring the wide, natural movement of glide-bait fishing into places traditional hard glide baits can be difficult to reach. Built for bass anglers who want a realistic baitfish presentation with the versatility of a soft body, the Nessie can be cast, skipped and worked around high-percentage cover while delivering smooth, consistent swimming action.

The Nessie's soft-bodied jointed design creates natural side-to-side movement in the water while providing anglers with a different presentation than traditional hard-bodied glide baits. A mesh-reinforced joint increases durability while maintaining the freedom of movement needed to produce the bait's gliding action.

Strategically positioned stabilizing fins help keep the Nessie swimming consistently, while its slow-sinking design gives anglers control over the bait's position in the water column. Adjust retrieve speed and rod movement to create smooth swimming action, directional changes and triggering movements around fish-holding areas.

Unlike many traditional hard glide baits, the soft-bodied Nessie can be skipped, slid and cast around cover, opening opportunities to present a glide-style bait around docks, overhanging cover and other areas where anglers may hesitate to throw an expensive hard-bodied glide bait.

A patent-pending hook retention clip keeps the Fusion19 treble hook secured against the body during the retrieve. When a fish strikes, the hook can separate from the bait, helping keep the lure body away from the fish during the fight.

Each Nessie features a Fusion19 treble hook for dependable hook-setting performance and custom-painted forage-matching finishes designed to imitate natural baitfish.

The soft body also incorporates PowerBait flavor, adding another element of attraction to the Nessie's realistic profile and swimming action.

Designed with professional angler Mike Iaconelli, the Nessie gives both experienced glide-bait anglers and anglers new to the technique a versatile way to fish a large baitfish presentation for bass.

Available in multiple sizes, anglers can match the Nessie to local forage, target-fish size and fishing conditions. Smaller models provide a more compact glide-bait presentation, while larger sizes create a substantial profile for targeting bigger predatory fish.
