The Bandit 200 Series Crankbait is a classic mid-depth fishing lure designed to target bass, walleye, crappie and other freshwater gamefish. Measuring 2 inches and weighing 1/4 oz, the Bandit 200 combines a compact profile, proven crankbait action and a 4–8 foot cranking depth that makes it an excellent choice for fishing points, rock, flats, creek channels and other mid-depth structure.
Designed to dive from approximately 4 to 8 feet when cranked, the Bandit 200 Series fills the important depth range between shallow-running crankbaits and deeper-diving models. This makes it a versatile option when fish move away from the bank but remain above deeper offshore structure.
The rounded diving lip helps the Bandit 200 run true while creating the fish-hunting action that has made the Bandit crankbait lineup a favorite among freshwater anglers.
For largemouth bass, fish the Bandit 200 around rocky points, hard-bottom flats, creek-channel swings and other areas where bass use changes in depth or bottom composition to ambush forage. Cast beyond the target and retrieve the crankbait through the strike zone while allowing the lure to contact or deflect around available structure.
For smallmouth bass, the compact 2-inch profile makes the Bandit 200 an excellent crankbait for fishing rocky points, gravel, hard-bottom transitions and other areas where smallmouth feed on baitfish and crawfish.
Contact with rock and hard bottom can be especially effective. Allow the crankbait to occasionally deflect off cover or grind across productive structure, creating changes in speed and direction that can trigger reaction strikes.
The Bandit 200 is also effective around main-lake points. Cast across or along the point and use the lure's 4–8 foot diving range to work the depth where fish are actively feeding.
Around hard-bottom flats, use a steady retrieve to cover water and locate active fish. Vary retrieve speed and direction until you determine how aggressively fish are responding to the crankbait.
The Bandit 200 can also be used around creek-channel swings, especially where channel edges intersect rock, points or other fish-holding structure.
While particularly effective for bass, the Bandit 200 is a versatile multi-species crankbait. It can also be used to target walleye, crappie and other predatory freshwater fish feeding on small baitfish or crawfish.
For walleye, the compact profile provides an alternative to longer minnow-style trolling crankbaits. The Bandit 200 can be cast around structure or incorporated into trolling presentations when fish are feeding on smaller forage.
When trolled, the Bandit 200 can reach approximately 12 feet, giving anglers another way to present the lure to suspended or structure-oriented fish.
The compact 2-inch body provides a smaller forage profile that can be particularly effective when gamefish are feeding on young-of-year baitfish, small shad, bluegill, perch or crawfish.
At 1/4 oz, the Bandit 200 provides a compact presentation while remaining practical for casting with appropriate crankbait equipment.
Fisherman's Central carries the Bandit 200 Series Crankbait in an extensive assortment of colors, allowing anglers to match local forage, water clarity, seasonal patterns and fishing conditions.
Natural baitfish patterns such as Baby Bass, Blue Back Herring, Natural Shad, Silver Minnow, Tennessee Shad and Threadfin Shad provide realistic options when fish are feeding on baitfish.
Crawfish patterns including Brown Craw/Orange Belly, Brown Fall Craw, CR Red Crawdad, Red Crawfish, Red Spring Craw and Spring Craw/Yellow provide excellent options when bass and other gamefish are feeding around rocky structure and crawfish are an important part of the forage base.
Brighter patterns such as Chartreuse/Black Back, Chartreuse/Blue Back, Chartreuse Shad, Citrus Shad and Fire Tiger provide additional visibility and contrast in stained water, low-light conditions or when anglers want a more aggressive presentation.
