Yum FF Sonar Minnow

The YUM FF Sonar Minnow is a finesse soft plastic minnow designed specifically for targeting bass with forward-facing sonar. Developed with Bassmaster Classic champion Jason Christie, the FF Sonar Minnow combines a realistic shad-shaped profile, subtle forked-tail action and YUM's F2 scent attractant to create a natural baitfish presentation for suspended, pressured and clear-water bass.

Designed around modern forward-facing sonar fishing, the YUM FF Sonar Minnow allows anglers to present a soft plastic minnow directly to individual fish or schools of bass located with live sonar. Its streamlined baitfish profile and subtle action make it especially effective when bass are following baitfish in open water or suspending away from traditional cover.

The FF Sonar Minnow features a shad-shaped body with a small forked tail that produces a subtle baitfish-like quiver rather than an aggressive kicking action. This understated movement helps create a natural presentation for wary bass that may follow or inspect a bait before committing.

Its solid, blunt-nosed body pairs naturally with a finesse jighead, allowing anglers to maintain a controlled horizontal presentation while targeting fish at specific depths.

For forward-facing sonar fishing, locate suspended bass or baitfish with your electronics and cast the YUM FF Sonar Minnow beyond the target. Allow the bait to reach the desired depth and maintain a controlled retrieve while watching the fish's reaction on sonar. Adjust retrieve speed, depth and movement based on how the bass respond.

The Sonar Minnow is an excellent option for hover strolling and mid-strolling presentations. Rigged on an appropriately sized jighead, the bait can be worked through the water column with subtle rod movements while its forked tail and soft plastic body create natural movement.

When targeting suspended bass, the FF Sonar Minnow allows anglers to keep a bait in the strike zone without relying on aggressive action. This makes it especially useful when bass are feeding on suspended shad, minnows and other open-water forage.

The natural baitfish profile also makes the YUM FF Sonar Minnow an excellent choice for clear-water bass fishing. When fish have plenty of visibility and can closely inspect a lure, the subtle profile and restrained action provide a less aggressive presentation than traditional paddle-tail swimbaits.

The YUM FF Sonar Minnow is infused with YUM F2 scent attractant, adding scent to the visual and action-based presentation. The attractant is designed to encourage fish to commit to and hold the bait, giving anglers additional time to make a solid hookset.

Although specifically developed around forward-facing sonar, the YUM FF Sonar Minnow isn't limited to anglers using live sonar. Its natural minnow profile also makes it useful for other finesse bass techniques where a subtle baitfish imitation is needed.

Fish the Sonar Minnow around open-water baitfish, points, channel swings, offshore structure, suspended schools and other areas where largemouth, smallmouth and spotted bass are feeding on minnows or shad.

The 3-inch YUM FF Sonar Minnow provides a compact finesse presentation for matching smaller forage or targeting pressured fish.

The 4-inch FF Sonar Minnow provides a versatile middle-size baitfish profile that can match a wide variety of shad and minnow forage.

The larger 5-inch FF Sonar Minnow provides additional profile when bass are feeding on larger baitfish or when anglers want a more visible presentation.

Fisherman's Central carries the YUM FF Sonar Minnow in a selection of realistic baitfish-inspired colors, giving anglers options for matching local forage, water clarity and fishing conditions. Natural shad and minnow patterns are especially useful in clear water and when bass are actively feeding on open-water baitfish.

Pair the YUM FF Sonar Minnow with a YUM FF Sonar Jig Head to create a complete forward-facing sonar presentation designed for targeting suspended and roaming bass.
