The Stanley Boom Boom Poppin Frog is a hollow-body topwater frog designed to create a loud, attention-grabbing presentation around heavy cover. Developed with Bass Pro Tour angler and frog fishing specialist Fred Roumbanis, this popping frog combines a deep concave mouth, unique FrogFur, and a specialized belly-weight system to give bass anglers an aggressive surface presentation.
Its deep concave mouth grabs water and produces a pronounced popping and splashing action with every twitch, helping the Boom Boom Poppin Frog call bass out of thick vegetation and other cover. The hollow-body construction allows the frog to collapse when a bass strikes, while the razor-sharp Mustad Wide Gap Frog hook is positioned to promote solid hook penetration.
A standout feature is the FrogFur positioned along the top of the frog. This patent-pending material is designed to catch against the rough texture of a bass's mouth, helping make it more difficult for fish to throw the bait during the fight. A diamond-shaped belly weight sits between the body and hook, providing balance while allowing the hook to extend farther during the hookset.
At approximately 2.72 inches and 3/8 ounce, the Boom Boom Poppin Frog offers a compact but highly disruptive topwater profile. It is an excellent choice when you want more sound and water displacement than a conventional walking-style frog, especially when fishing lily pads, mats, grass, and other shallow heavy cover.
