Berkley Powerbait MS Flux-Gill

The Berkley PowerBait MaxScent Flux-Gill is an innovative soft plastic bass bait designed to combine a realistic panfish and baitfish profile with maximum scent dispersion, subtle action and exceptional rigging versatility. Built around Berkley's unique flow-through "Flux" body design and proven PowerBait MaxScent formula, the Flux-Gill provides anglers with a natural presentation for targeting pressured, suspended and forage-focused bass.

The defining feature of the Flux-Gill is its innovative flow-through body design. Openings throughout the body allow water to continually pass through the bait, helping disperse fresh MaxScent while also contributing to the bait's subtle quivering action. This combination of scent, profile and movement gives the Flux-Gill a unique presentation when fish are pressured or reluctant to commit to more aggressive baits.

Berkley's exclusive PowerBait MaxScent formula is designed to expand the strike zone by continuously releasing scent into the surrounding water. Combined with the Flux-Gill's flow-through construction, this gives anglers a scent-driven soft plastic that continues working whether the bait is moving through the water column or being presented slowly around fish.

The Flux-Gill's broad, flat profile allows it to imitate several common forage species, including bluegill, sunfish and other panfish as well as wider-bodied baitfish. This makes it an excellent choice when bass are feeding on forage with more body and profile than a traditional narrow minnow-style soft plastic can provide.

One of the strongest applications for the Berkley MaxScent Flux-Gill is the free rig. The bait's flat profile creates a slow, natural gliding fall as it separates from the weight, allowing the Flux-Gill to move through the water with a panfish-like presentation. This is especially effective around bass that are feeding on bluegill and other panfish.

The Flux-Gill is also designed for mid-strolling, where its unique body shape and flow-through construction create subtle movement as the bait is worked through the water column. This presentation can be particularly effective for targeting suspended or roaming bass when a natural baitfish profile and controlled depth are important.

When fish are heavily pressured or unwilling to chase, the Flux-Gill can be dead-sticked and allowed to remain nearly stationary. The MaxScent formula continues dispersing scent while subtle water movement can create action through the bait's unique body design, giving anglers another option for triggering difficult fish.

The Flux-Gill's versatile profile also allows anglers to experiment with additional rigging styles based on fishing conditions. It can be presented around cover, worked along structure or incorporated into moving-bait presentations when anglers want to add a larger panfish or baitfish profile.

Fisherman's Central offers the Berkley PowerBait MaxScent Flux-Gill in both 3.5-inch and 5.3-inch sizes, allowing anglers to match the bait to forage size and fishing conditions. The smaller 3.5-inch Flux-Gill provides a more compact presentation for finesse applications and smaller forage, while the 5.3-inch version creates a larger profile when bass are feeding on substantial bluegill, panfish or baitfish.

A wide selection of natural and high-contrast colors gives anglers additional options for matching local forage and changing water conditions. Choose bluegill, sunfish and other natural patterns when matching panfish forage, baitfish-style colors when bass are feeding on shad or minnows, or darker and higher-contrast patterns when additional visibility is needed.
