Berkley PowerBait MaxScent Chigger Craw

The Berkley PowerBait MaxScent Chigger Craw combines the proven Chigger Craw profile and high-action claws with Berkley's MaxScent technology to create a versatile soft plastic craw bait for largemouth and smallmouth bass. Designed for jig trailers, Texas rigs, flipping, punching and Carolina rigs, the MaxScent Chigger Craw delivers an active crawfish presentation with scent dispersion for targeting bass around grass, rock, wood, docks and other cover.

Built around a proven Bassmaster Classic-winning profile and action, the MaxScent Chigger Craw features large, high-action pinchers that move aggressively as the bait falls or travels through the water. Fish it slowly along the bottom for a crawfish-style presentation or increase retrieve speed to make the claws swim with more aggressive action.

The Berkley MaxScent material releases scent into the surrounding water while providing a soft, realistic texture and natural presentation. This combination of scent, action and crawfish profile makes the MaxScent Chigger Craw an excellent option when targeting pressured or difficult-to-catch bass.

As a bass jig trailer, the MaxScent Chigger Craw adds crawfish profile, movement and scent to flipping jigs, football jigs and other bass jigs. The high-action claws provide movement during the fall, retrieve and bottom-contact presentations, making it an excellent trailer when bass are actively feeding on crawfish.

For Texas rig fishing, pair the Chigger Craw with an appropriate EWG-style hook and bullet or tungsten weight. Flip, pitch, drag or hop the bait around grass, docks, laydowns, brush, rock and other bass-holding cover.

The streamlined craw profile also makes the MaxScent Chigger Craw an excellent flipping and pitching bait. Target isolated grass, weed edges, laydowns, docks, bushes and other high-percentage areas where largemouth bass are holding close to cover.

When fishing thick vegetation, rig the MaxScent Chigger Craw as a punching bait with the appropriate heavy tungsten weight and hook. The craw profile can be worked through vegetation to reach bass holding underneath grass mats and other dense cover.

The Berkley PowerBait MaxScent Chigger Craw can also be fished on a Carolina rig when targeting bass along points, flats, ledges and offshore structure. Drag the bait slowly along the bottom to create a crawfish presentation while covering larger areas of productive water.

For largemouth bass, fish the MaxScent Chigger Craw around grass, docks, laydowns, brush, vegetation and other shallow or deep-water cover. Its combination of active claws and scent makes it a versatile option for both power fishing and slower bottom-contact presentations.

For smallmouth bass, drag or hop the Chigger Craw around rocky points, gravel, riprap, transitions and offshore structure. Crawfish are an important forage source for smallmouth, making a compact craw-style soft plastic an excellent option when fish are feeding near the bottom.

Fisherman's Central carries the Berkley PowerBait MaxScent Chigger Craw in 3-inch and 4-inch sizes, allowing anglers to adjust their presentation based on forage size, fishing pressure, jig size and technique.

The 3-inch MaxScent Chigger Craw provides a more compact crawfish presentation that's excellent for smaller jig trailers, finesse applications and situations where bass are feeding on smaller forage.

The larger 4-inch MaxScent Chigger Craw provides additional profile, action and presence for Texas rigs, flipping, punching, Carolina rigs and larger jig-trailer presentations.

Choose natural crawfish and green pumpkin-based colors when fishing clearer water or matching bottom-dwelling forage. Darker and higher-contrast colors provide a strong silhouette in stained water, heavy cover and low-light conditions.
