The Berkley PowerBait Power Switch is a purpose-built forward-facing sonar bait designed to give anglers fast, precise control when targeting suspended, roaming and structure-oriented fish. Featuring a heavy weight-forward design, natural baitfish profile, PowerBait flavor and a pre-rigged Fusion19 hook, the Power Switch allows anglers to quickly react to fish they see on forward-facing sonar and adjust their presentation based on fish behavior.
Designed specifically for modern forward-facing sonar fishing, the Berkley Power Switch helps anglers quickly deliver a bait to fish located on electronics. When a fish appears on sonar, the weight-forward construction provides the casting accuracy and fast sink rate needed to get the lure into the strike zone before the opportunity disappears.
The heavy weight-forward design helps the Power Switch sink quickly while providing anglers with excellent control over the bait. This makes it especially useful when targeting suspended fish at specific depths or reacting to individual fish moving through the water column.
One of the most unique ways to fish the Power Switch is Berkley's hovering technique. By rhythmically popping the rod tip, anglers can create an erratic darting action while manipulating and temporarily slowing the bait's fall. This allows the lure to remain around suspended fish while changing direction and movement to trigger a strike.
The Power Switch can also be fished with a wide range of other techniques, including snapping, ripping, vertical jigging, Damiki-style presentations, dock shooting, straight retrieves, yo-yoing, twitching, bottom bouncing and bottom dragging.
For bass fishing, use the Berkley PowerBait Power Switch to target suspended largemouth, smallmouth and spotted bass located with forward-facing sonar. Cast beyond or directly toward the fish, allow the lure to reach the desired depth and adjust the presentation based on how the fish reacts.
When a bass follows without committing, anglers can switch between hovering, snapping, twitching, falling and retrieving the bait to create a sudden change in action that may trigger a reaction strike.
For smallmouth bass, the Power Switch is an excellent option around suspended baitfish, offshore structure, rocky areas and open-water fish. Its baitfish profile and precise depth control allow anglers to target individual fish or groups of smallmouth visible on sonar.
For walleye, fish the Power Switch vertically or cast it toward suspended and roaming fish. Its fast-sinking design helps anglers quickly reach the depth where walleye are holding, while the natural baitfish profile provides a presentation that can imitate the forage walleye are feeding on.
The smaller Power Switch sizes are also useful for crappie and panfish, particularly when fish are suspended around brush, structure or open-water baitfish. The ability to quickly reach a precise depth can help anglers stay with fish as they move through the water column.
The Berkley Power Switch features a natural baitfish profile with 3D eyes, providing a realistic visual presentation when fish inspect the lure at close range.
Each Power Switch is infused with Berkley PowerBait flavor, adding scent and taste attraction to the presentation and encouraging fish to hold onto the bait longer after striking.
The Power Switch comes pre-rigged with a sharp Fusion19 hook, eliminating the need to match a separate jighead and soft plastic before fishing. The integrated design creates a balanced presentation engineered around the bait's weight-forward action.
Fisherman's Central carries the Berkley PowerBait Power Switch in six size and weight combinations, allowing anglers to match the presentation to target species, forage size and fishing depth.
The 1.75-inch, 1/16 oz Power Switch provides an ultra-compact presentation for crappie, panfish and fish feeding on very small forage.
The 2.5-inch, 1/4 oz Power Switch provides a compact baitfish presentation for crappie, bass, walleye and other freshwater gamefish.
The 3-inch, 3/8 oz Power Switch offers a versatile mid-size profile for bass, walleye and multi-species applications.
The 3.5-inch, 5/8 oz Power Switch provides additional weight and profile for quickly reaching deeper suspended fish.
The 4.25-inch, 1 oz Power Switch offers a larger baitfish presentation and heavier weight for deeper water and larger gamefish.
The 5-inch, 1-5/8 oz Power Switch provides the largest and heaviest presentation in Fisherman's Central's current assortment for targeting larger fish and quickly reaching deeper portions of the water column.
Fisherman's Central carries the Berkley Power Switch in a wide selection of natural, high-definition and high-visibility colors, including Clown, Firetiger, Green Pumpkin, HD Blacknose Shiner, HD Blue Wizard, HD Pink Wizard, HD Purple Wizard, HD Red Belly Goby, HD Stealth Minnow, HD White Wizard, HD Yellow Perch, Silver Bullet, Lemon Head Glow and Wonderbread.
